Critical surgery was performed on a 23-year-old man , Faisal , who had a car accident two years ago. The accident has caused comminuted fractures of the right tibia , necrotic inflammation and nonhealing fractures. Faisal has undergone several surgeries at many hospitals. He became confined to wheelchair . His fractures didn't heal and had purulent drainage.

The surgery involved removal of 13 cm of the inflamed bones and bone transport using Ilizarov external fixator. The surgery was successful and patient was able to walk again after removal of fixator.
